Do Good Heroes
Agent Toolkit

National Life Group’s Do Good Heroes program helps agents access police and fire-rescue-EMS departments and members by honoring them for community service activities beyond their public safety duty.

This program is designed to create opportunities for you to repeatedly engage with first responder departments in your market as you work to recognize them as National Life Do Good Heroes. By nominating a department or member, you can build connections with your local community and earn positive press and brand recognition for you, your agency, and National Life to drive sales.

The best part? National Life does nearly all the heavy lifting, from coordinating surprise events for winners to sharing nominees’ stories on social media and with the local press. You can rest assured that we're here to support you every step of the way. Our step-by-step guide will show you how Do Good Heroes works and how to use it to your advantage.

Step One: Introducing National Life Group’s Do Good Heroes Program

What you can do: Follow the instructions in one of the compliance-approved templates below to reach out to the chiefs of departments where you’d like to generate nominations.

Please note: while the general public are the intended audience for these materials, only agents affiliated with National Life Group can submit a nomination. We intentionally designed Do Good Heroes this way to create more opportunities for you to build relationships with prospects.

Step Two: Nominating Your National Life Do Good Hero

What you can do: If you know a first responder engaging in community service beyond the call of duty, we encourage you to nominate them as a National Life Do Good Hero today.

If you don’t have a nominee in mind, follow the instructions in one of these compliance-approved templates to reach out to the chiefs of departments where you’d like to generate nominations. They can recommend somebody for the award and help you complete the nomination form.

What we do: Once you submit a nomination, we verify the nominee’s eligibility and we create an online profile to promote the work they’re doing in their community.

Step Three: Sharing Your Nominee's Profile and Scheduling a Certificate Presentation

What you can do: As a National Life agent, you have the opportunity to present the nominee with a physical Do Good Heroes certificate. This is the perfect opportunity to get your foot in the door and deepen relationships with the nominee and their colleagues.

Follow the instructions in one of these compliance-approved templates to schedule a certificate presentation with your National Life Do Good Hero’s department chief.

What we do: We share each National Life Do Good Hero’s story on social media and with the local press, making sure to mention the local agencies in their market.

If your nominee is chosen as a winner, our team will reach out to you to share the good news. We’ll also work directly with your nominee’s department to put together a well-deserved recognition event and check presentation.

PRESENTATION MATERIALS

This certificate is a customizable 8.5” x 11” PDF file. Please print this out prior to the presentation. If you wish to frame it, we recommend one of these frames.

This big check template is a customizable 36” x 18” PDF file and should only be used if your nominee is a National Life Do Good Hero award winner.
